Identify the water pathway
We start with what happened, where water moved and which openings or drainage systems are exposed.
Flood doors · garage protection · basement flood prevention
Flood Ready helps property owners identify how water can enter—through doors, garage openings, sewers, foundation drainage or pump failure—then choose a practical protection system for the actual risk.

High-intent flood protection
A flooded basement can start with surface water at an opening, sewer reversal, foundation drainage or loss of pumping. These are different problems and should not be treated as one generic waterproofing job.

Flood doors
Flood doors can help protect a doorway that would otherwise become a direct path for surface water. The opening, expected water depth, threshold, surrounding structure, seals, latching and access requirements all matter.
Garage flood doors & barriers
A garage can be a major surface-water entry point. Depending on the opening and expected conditions, the appropriate solution may be a purpose-built flood-resistant garage-door system, a permanent opening-protection assembly or an engineered removable/deployable barrier.

Real systems & service access
These project and reference images show why access, maintenance and homeowner handover matter after installation.

How Flood Ready works
We start with what happened, where water moved and which openings or drainage systems are exposed.
We compare door, barrier, backwater-valve, sump, drainage, power-backup and inspection needs based on the property.
The final system should be serviceable, understandable and supported by clear homeowner operating and maintenance information.
Toronto & GTA
The keyword plan prioritizes Toronto, Vaughan, Scarborough and the GTA. These pages connect local search intent to the same property-first assessment process.
Municipal programmes
Programme rules, eligible measures, permits and required documents vary by municipality and can change. Flood Ready keeps technical suitability separate from municipal approval.
Flood Ready is a private service company. Municipalities determine programme eligibility, approval and payment. Always confirm current requirements for the property before relying on a rebate.
Frequently asked questions
A flood door is generally a permanent door assembly designed for flood resistance. A removable or deployable barrier is placed across an opening when needed. The right approach depends on opening size, expected water depth, structure, access and how quickly the system must be deployed.
Potentially. Wide openings need specific assessment because the width, driveway slope, structural support, expected depth and deployment method all affect the solution. Garage flood protection may use a purpose-built door system or an engineered barrier rather than a standard overhead door.
They address different pathways. A backwater valve is intended to reduce reverse sewer flow through protected private drainage. A sump pump manages collected groundwater or foundation drainage. Some homes need one, both, or another measure entirely.
Flood Ready serves Toronto and selected GTA communities, including Vaughan, Scarborough, Markham, Burlington and Mississauga. Service availability is confirmed by address and project type.
