Paid-search attribution and privacy choices
When a visitor arrives from an advertisement, the website may store non-sensitive campaign identifiers such as Microsoft Click ID (MSCLKID), UTM parameters, landing page, referrer, device and network values. These identifiers help connect a request with the campaign that produced it.
- Names, phone numbers, email addresses, messages, postal codes and uploaded files are not sent to advertising analytics as event parameters.
- First-touch and last-touch campaign information may be retained in the visitor’s browser for attribution and copied into a submitted lead record.
