Technical fit

What this service can—and cannot—address

Help stop sewer flow from reversing into protected basement drains and fixtures.

  • A valve does not stop groundwater or water entering through doors and windows.
  • Heavy fixture use may need to stop while the valve is closed.
  • The access cover must remain reachable for inspection and cleaning.

Flood Ready separates observations from assumptions, identifies permits and municipal-programme requirements, and documents the work included in the quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you book

Does a backwater valve stop every kind of basement flooding?

No. It addresses reverse flow through the protected drainage path. Surface water, groundwater, foundation leakage and plumbing failures require separate controls.

Interior or exterior—which is better?

The correct location depends on the building drain, connected fixtures, property conditions, access, municipal requirements and the work needed to maintain the valve.

Does it need maintenance?

Yes. The valve should remain accessible and be inspected and cleaned according to the product instructions and site conditions.

Can Flood Ready help with rebate documents?

Yes. We can organize project records and explain the municipal submission process, but the municipality determines eligibility, approval and payment.
