Installation FAQ

Know what you are installing and why.

Do you install standard garage doors as flood doors?

A standard garage door should not be assumed to provide flood resistance. Flood Ready assesses purpose-built flood-resistant systems and engineered barrier approaches that fit the opening and expected conditions.

Is a permanent system always better than a removable barrier?

No. Permanent readiness, daily access, structural requirements, storage, deployment time and expected water depth all influence the decision.

Can garage protection be combined with a sump pump?

Potentially. Surface-water opening protection and pumping address different parts of the risk, and an assessment can determine whether both are relevant.

Start with the risk—not a guess.
